Introduction to the Black List with Franklin Leonard

The Writers Guild of America, East welcomes Black List founder Franklin Leonard to present the history of the List and to demo its new online service. This year, Black List and WGAE have entered into an exciting new corporate partnership.

Described in Wired magazine as “a blind, legitimate, merit-based gatekeeper that exposes deserving scripts to eyes that are actually hungry for fresh voices and new content,” the Black List in just two short months has led to over 2,000 downloads of previously unrepresented screenplays by industry professionals, and to multiple signings by major agencies and management companies of the writers who wrote them.

Leonard will answer any and all questions about what the Black List is, why it exists the way it does, why members of WGAE will be able to access it at a discount, and how writers can best take advantage of the new venture to expose their work and advance their careers.
